EXPLOSIVES TRIALS, TESTING & DISPOSALS

Findhu Glen Ranges is situated in Findhu Glen, near Comrie, Perthshire.

 

The range covers an area of 12Km x 6Km giving a total size of 72 square Km in which to conduct testing. Within the range site we have a 10m deep flooded quarry, which can be used for underwater charges. There is also a large hardstanding area for land based charges. We have onsite explosives storage and security. Any labs or offices required can also be supplied. We have hosted trials for agencies of the MOD and also Oil companies.

Trials and Testing

• Live testing, design and manufacture of bespoke shaped charges, blast and ballistic protection materials

• Unlimited NEQ limit trials site - air and water – all aspects of trials and measurementation

• UN Series 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 4b etc (including Gap Test, Koenen Test, Internal Ignition Test, Time Pressure Test, 12m Drop Test, Thermal Stability Test, Deflagration to Detonation Test (DDT), External Bonfire Test, Single Package Test, Stack Test, External Fire Test, Vented Pipe Test.

• NATO STANAG's (including 4240, 4241, 4382, 4396, 4488A, 4490, 4496)

• HSE CAD

• VSAG testing carried out

• Armour, blast and ballistic testing, B1-B7, bullet attack

• Environmental testing (-80°C to +110°C)

• HE weapon trials

• All explosives products, stores, targets provided as required

• Section 5 licence including all appropriate ordnance and weapons (see below)

• 4000 metre range facility for large calibre ordnance from 105mm large rounds to shoulder-fired rocket range
